  Daisy Craddock
Info
Daisy Craddock's paintings capture the romance and color of the American South, but by using surprisingly aesthetic means the artist further achieves a fascinating and complex vision combining the classic idyll with modern restraint.

"Light plays a big part in what I call the psychology of painting. Enormous spreading branches framed by light over water are an almost primal image for me and make me long to spend more time in my Iuka, Mississippi studio. Sally Mann's recent landscape photos of the south really knocked me out. I've always felt tremendously challenged by great Southern literature, and I think that we're just beginning to find its visual equivalent."
