For sheer visual pleasure, here's a show that's hard to beat. Using house paint, Mr. Mendelsohn creates undulating fields of layered horizontal stripes or multicolored dashes stacked up into blurry, wavering columns. Less aggressively optical than Bridget Riley's work, his paintings are soothingly meditative
