My small sculptures are constructed from twigs and wood fragment gathered locally in the streets, and are made up the same way that I patched together my toys when I was small, using glue, thread, paint.   As a child, playing and making, I would tell myself stories, inventing magical adventures.

I was naturally drawn to the performance activity that flourished in the Sixties and participated in many process exhibitions, producing kinetic sculptures, performance installations.   The influence of Irish and Japanese poets was strong then, and remains so.  My work aspires to be immediate, fresh; my paintings intend to be meditations on time, on mortality.

My themes and techniques echo both my childhood and the original childhood of human kind, invoking the ancient trekkers and storytellers, their art, their enchantments, their dreams.
