NEW MONOTYPES
North Atlantic Salmon & Black Crowned Night Heron

Susan Amons
Available Now

Susan Amons lives in Maine on the edge of conserved wild land. During the spring and summer she is able to observe wild life in it's natural habitat and record individuals and group scenes for later use. During the fall and winter she creates these stunning monotypes. Amons is the only artist whose monotypes I represent, but do not publish, I feel she is a master of her craft and art and am pround to offer these elegant flowing images. The artist paints directly on her plates and also creates painted cut outs that she can move around within the picture field to create variations on a theme. Amons makes beautiful use of ghost images, incorporating them into generations of the image. I see an Asian quality in her art, this most American of artists, uses a spare, elegant line reminiscent of 18th Century Japanese wood cuts.
